There are many ways that people try and look after themselves. I guess it varies depending on how a person is and their personality. I personally find that if I have a problem I would want to talk about it to someone (usually my wife) who will give me comfort and listen to me. They don’t need to say anything or give a solution, but them being there for you automatically takes away half of the problem.
Another way I try to look after myself is reading or listening to Quran. I find it soothing and it warms me inside. But there are times when I don’t feel like reading so that’s when I just go on YouTube and watch funny videos to cheer myself up.
Playing games for me is another way of getting my mind off things. If I have had a long and tiring day, I like to play games and go into a zone of my own, even though it’s not stress free, but I enjoy it.
One of the best things I’ve done so far to look after myself is joining the gym. Ever since I started going to the gym regularly, I’ve found that I’ve felt better mentally and physically. I feel fresh and have a sense of achievement after accomplishing my goals for the day.
These are just some of the ways I find helpful in looking after myself.
